Outdoor Chattanooga • Learn to: Kayak | Kayak Polo • Learn to whitewater kayak and practice your roll with Outdoor Chattanooga’s Rapid Learning Whitewater Program. Rapid Learning provides formal kayak instruction, including all the equipment, for beginning and novice kayakers with the goal teach you how to safely and comfortably paddle up to class III whitewater. Outdoor Chattanooga has been teaching the Rapid Learning Whitewater Kayak program for almost 30 years, teaching people to paddle and building community. Our instructors have years of experience teaching and are nationally certified. •
Kayak polo will be free for any current Rapid Learning members! Friends are welcome to attend FOR FREE if they have their own boat, helmet, and paddle and if they have previous kayaking experience, no registration required. Kayak polo is a competitive game with the objective to pass a ball to teammates in order to advance the ball down the pool to ultimately score points in the other team’s goal, similar to traditional water polo, soccer, and ultimate frisbee. These sessions are friendly for beginners as well as advanced kayakers. Due to the fast-paced nature of the game, all players should have some experience in effectively maneuvering a kayak. Whitewater kayaks are recommended however, participants with recreational kayaks are also welcome to participate. Prior to play, participants will be briefed on safety and the rules of kayak polo.
