The Woodshop | Listening Room
5500 SAINT ELMO AVENUE - CHATTANOOGA, TN (423) 803-6165
We are a music venue, listening room and neighborhood bar in Chattanooga known for its intimate, musical and cultural experiences. It began as a DIY music venue project back in 2015 by Daniel Pate Russell. He and many others spent a few years redesigning and remodeling an old woodworking shop with the goal of hosting musical performances. Frequent trips to Ace Hardware down the street for supplies, he met his wife and co-founder, Tyler Rozzell. Shortly after, they met Dylan Hackett, a neighbor who had been hosting underground house shows. In 2019, they opened as a bar to keep the live music alive. The Woodshop has undoubtedly matured into one of Chattanooga’s most beloved destinations.
BOOK TWO
The legacy of The Woodshop is continued by new owners, husband and wife, Jhett Black and Callie Sioux. Jhett and Callie Sioux are musicians, creatives, and have worked a plethora of jobs in and out of the music industry. It’s been a long and winding road of touring and hard work, but their incessant creative energy has finally found a home apart from the road. A space to serve their local community and the others out there still pounding the pavement. The Woodshop continues to host concerts, community events, and be a home to musicians and locals alike.
Since opening as a bar in the midst of 2020’s shuttering, we’ve developed into a venue-style neighborhood bar that curates a homelike feeling for anyone who walks inside. Live music is in our DNA, but we’re also known for our cozy seasonal food and craft drinks menu. Between finger-licking BBQ and arguably the best local craft beer and spirits we can find, what we’ve created is a surprisingly wide selection of goods that keeps your heart warm and happy. We promise you’ll remember coming here.
