Nooga Nightlife (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the NoogaNightlife+ mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• If you choose to create an account (optional): Name and Email Address (collected via Firebase Authentication).
• Survey responses and ratings you submit after checking in at a location (these are private by default).

Automatically Collected Information

• Device information (model, operating system, unique device identifiers)
• Usage data (which screens you visit and how you interact with the app)
• Precise location data only when you actively tap “Check In” at a participating location and grant permission. We do not track your location in the background.

WebView Data When you use the “Browse Events & Specials” section, you are viewing our external website (nooganightlife.com) inside the app. Any data collected on the website is governed by the website’s separate privacy policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Enable optional account creation and login
• Process GPS check-ins for Food & Drink Weeks and Pub Crawls
• Calculate and display points and leaderboards for each specific event
• Store your private survey responses and ratings
• Send push notifications about check-in success, new events, or important updates
• Improve the app and analyze general usage trends
• Respond to your support requests

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data.

• Anonymous Feedback Only: At the end of each Week or Crawl, we may share aggregated, fully anonymous survey feedback (ratings and comments with all personal identifiers removed) with the participating restaurants and bars so they can improve their offerings. No names, emails, or individual user data is ever shared.
• We may share limited data with service providers who help us operate the app (e.g., Firebase for authentication and basic analytics, OneSignal for push notifications). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information.
• We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

4. Location Data

We only access your precise location when you actively choose to check in. Location permission can be revoked at any time through your device settings. We do not track or store your location when you are not actively checking in.

5. Data Retention

• Account information (Name & Email) is kept only as long as your account is active.
• Check-in and points data are retained for the duration of each event and a reasonable period afterward for leaderboards and support purposes.
• Survey responses are kept in aggregated, anonymized form to help improve future events.

6. Your Rights

You may:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data (Name & Email)
• Request deletion of your check-in and survey history
• Withdraw consent for location access or push notifications at any time

7. Children’s Privacy

Our app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app and updating the effective date.
