Stove WorksY’ALL DON’T HEAR ME OPENING RECEPTION AND CURATOR’S TALK • “Y’all Don’t Hear Me” is a statement by someone who feels disregarded, which resonates with the Black Appalachian community. “You don’t hear us because you’re not listening; you’re not listening because you don’t know we exist,” says Kreneshia Whiteside-McGree, Curator. The purpose of this collection is to amplify their narrative and remind audiences that there are quality artists creating in the mountains. Although the base of the project is visual arts, music and language are highly recognized components of Appalachia. Poetry by Nikki Giovanni and Crystal Wilkinson are included throughout the collection along with playlists for each era. These creative components collectively expand the exposure of Black artists and add to the ambient experience for the public to better understand our culture. Understanding the importance of engagement, Mrs. Whiteside-McGee has created a welcoming and interactive environment featuring ‘candid corners.’ These photo op areas emphasize the theme of home through interior design, allowing visitors to safely sit, pose, and connect with the work • 6:00 pm

While teaching himself, he noticed a common thread among the songs—the songs were written by actual members of The Beatles. Brandon wrote his first song at the tender age of 11 and now has an original catalog of over a thousand songs, a few of which have won awards. After college Brandon moved to Nashville from his hometown near Chattanooga, TN to pursue his songwriting passion. In 2014, he was selected as the Family Events “Monster Truck Artist of the Year” for his song “The Bigger The Wheels, The Better The Man”, and, at this point started touring the Midwest with the monster truck shows • Live Music at 8:00 pm • No Cover • All Ages

The Sweet & Savory ClassroomRamen • Who knew “Real Ramen” doesn’t come from those little dusty pouches you boiled up all through college? Ramen is actually a complex meal with Japanese and Chinese Heritage from centuries ago. Great Ramen is a sought after dish because the making of it is like fine tuning a grand piano. It takes time and attention to detail. In this class we really get deep into the complexities of Ramen by first making the alkaline noodles from scratch followed by seasoning the homemade broth to perfection. Then we work diligently to prepare the marinated soft boiled eggs which are a famous accompaniment. To finish off the Ramen everyone cooks their noodles and makes a few other toppings. Finally….we eat….and fall in love with “Real Ramen!” • Register Here • 6:00 pm
